Union Budget Expectations For MSME & Digital Sector

The Interim Budget 2019 is just around the corner, and the industry is ripe
with speculations on what would this budget bring with it. The previous
union budget had brought with it a pleasant surprise with an allocation of
over INR 3000 Crore towards the promotion of Digital India. This gave a big
push to the innovative technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data,
Machine Learning, AR and VR.

The upcoming budget is expected to increase its focus on the digital
sector, owing to the increasing global sentiments around digitization. In
the past year, there has been a lot of conversations around data privacy
globally. India is also on its way to on-board this train. There have been
talks around data localization. In order to facilitate this, there has to
be an improvement in the digital infrastructure advanced and robust enough
to support this. This, the upcoming budget is expected to allocate the
funds accordingly, enabling us to materialize this vision.

Also, the start-up and the MSME segment would benefit a lot from the
developments which would make this sector a favorable investment
destination. Moreover, the digital space is such that positive developments
in any sector cascade down to digital sector. As there is more development,
there are more funds for marketing and advertising budgets. This enables
them to designate more ad budgets which benefits the sector.
